Can I give my buyer back part of the price after the sale?
There is no button to refund an amount to your buyer yourself. If you both agree to give back part of the price (a flaw you forgot to mention in the listing, a size that runs slightly different…), it goes through a dispute, opened by the buyer before they confirm receipt.
How to do it
- Message the buyer in the conversation: ask them not to confirm receipt, and to tap « Report a problem » instead, on the « Parcel delivered » message.
- You are notified when the dispute opens. From the conversation, open « Suggest a solution » and offer a discount of 10, 20, 30 or 50 % on the item's price.
- If the buyer accepts, the sale is confirmed: they keep the item, the discount is refunded to them, and you receive the rest in your Opla wallet.
Good to know
- Timing matters: the buyer has 48 hours after receiving the parcel to report a problem. Once the order is confirmed (by them, or automatically after 48 hours), you are paid and a discount is no longer possible.
- Only these steps: 10, 20, 30 or 50 % of the item's price. An exact amount (for example €4.50) is not possible: agree on the closest step.
- The discount is deducted from what you receive and goes back to the buyer on their original payment method (card, or Opla wallet if they paid with it).
