Am I protected as a buyer?

Yes. That's what the Opla protection fee paid at checkout is for: it amounts to 5% of the item price + €0.70. If the seller doesn't ship your order, or if the item doesn't match the description, you can open a dispute within 48h of receiving the parcel, directly from the app. While the dispute is ongoing, the payment stays secured by Opla and is not released to the seller; if the dispute is justified, you are refunded everything you paid — item, shipping and Opla protection fee included — to your original payment method (any part paid with your wallet goes back to your wallet); a refund to a card or PayPal shows up within 5 to 10 days depending on your bank.

The protection also covers lost or damaged parcels during transit.
