# How do I delete my account?

You can request the deletion of your account and your data from your **account settings** in the app, or by contacting support.

## What deletion actually does

- Your account is not wiped from our systems: it is **anonymised**, in line with the **GDPR**. Your personal details (name, photo, bio, phone number, address) are removed, and your profile no longer appears in search or on the site.
- Your **bank details are deleted**.
- Your **live listings are taken off sale**.

## It is permanent

A deleted account cannot be restored, and your listings cannot be recovered: if you come back to Opla later, everything has to be listed again from scratch.

⚠️ Before deleting your account, make sure you have **no orders in progress** (nothing bought, nothing sold and waiting to be shipped) and **no balance left in your wallet**: withdraw your money first, it cannot be recovered afterwards.
